A recent scathing attack from one Shailja Patel on twitter seems to have rubbed people off the wrong way. Her comments we based on her(Lupita) father's "political sins", but in real sense she is not her father. Why should she be held responsible and let to hang for the "crimes" of her father. It was her sweat and ambition that made her get to where she is. Part of Shailja's tweet read “Lupita’s stellar path is funded by Kenyan workers — the ones her father called Al-Shabaab for demanding sane wages & work conditions.” She concluded, “When Lupita wins her deserved Oscar, she (should) thank the people of Kenya who have sacrificed 3 generations of dreams for hers to flower.”
