The Oscar Pistorius trial will be televised on DStv channel 199 starting 2nd March 2014. The 24 hour Carte Blanche channel will feature full coverage of the trial, as well as hours of exclusive documentaries, profiles and in-depth expert analysis on the case. The channel will run till the end of the trial on 20 March 2014Oscar Pistorius was rivaled in popularity to Usain Bolt and David Rudisha during the 2012 Summer Olympics for being the 1st double leg amputee to participate in the Olympics when he entered in the men's 400 meters and 4 x 400 meters relay races. He won gold medals in the mens 400 meters and in the 4 x 400 meters relay during the 2012 Summer Paralympics, where he broke world records in both events. He also took a silver in the 200 meters race.
Oscar is infamous for the murder of his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, whom he shot at 4 times while she was locked in a bathroom, 3 bullets hitting her and causing her death. He also faces two additional charges of firing a gun in a public space.
